- Cutting back on red meat and trans fats
- Getting protein and iron from veggies and nuts
- Choosing whole-fat milk and even ice cream
- Drinking coffee, tea, and alcohol in moderation
- Losing weight (if needed) and exercising
The Nurses' Health Study exhaustively examined the effects of diet and other lifestyle changes on fertility among nearly 20,000 female nurses. - This book was interesting but they summarize their ten rules for what you should eat and not eat in the first chapter and never really add anything to that. I could have just read three pages and gotten what I need from this book. Basically eat whole grains (no white flours/potatoes etc) Eat less animal protein and more vegetable protein, as well as fish. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Moderate alcohol and caffeine consumption. Absolutely no trans fats. Eat no low fat dairy products but do eat 1-2 servings of whole fat dairy products a day. Take an excellent multivitamin with allot of folic acid. Also supplement with Iron.
- Lots of information on how diet effects fertility. This is one of the best books for women with infertility problems.
- I like that this was founded on research. As a vegetarian, I have always been careful to make sure that I was eating a well-balanced diet with enough protein and vitamins. It was reassuring to me to know that I will likely be in good shape from a nutritional point of view once we begin trying for our baby. )
- Has wonderful information and is written so it is easily understandable.
- This book goes over everything and how it all relates to fertility. It also helps women with PCOS and how to address it. Even if you don't have PCOS, but considering having a baby I strongly recommend reading this book.
- This book is amazing and is backed by tons of research. I would love a follow up study!
- It provided everything I was looking for to help me prepare my body for pregnancy. I'm looking forward to trying this.
- Interesting
