"It was time for me to get a new Bible as the one I had was worn. I started Bible College and I wanted something that I could write my lesson in the more modern style but still keep the tradition of the language & meaning of the original. I decided on this NKJV Study Bible. It has saved me hours of library time gathering information as this Bible includes so many features, such as, Study Notes, Illustrations, References, Concordance, and Maps. Also, it is important to me that the words of Christ are in red and they are in this Bible.
As far as the quality, I would say it is above and beyond what I expected- GREAT QUALITY!! It is well put together and the leather has a wonderful feel. I would go as far as to say I think I like it better than the genuine leather my worn out Bible has. The indention tabs to help find the Books of the Bible quickly is a plus to me.
This Bible is large 2" thick, 7.75"width, 10.5" long. Somewhat Heavy too.
The one and only CON is that the pages seem a little to thin. I would have liked them to be a tad thicker. Oh, and when you get it (should you choose this Bible), the pages stick together and with the pages being thin you don't want to turn page by page until you fan the pages really good back and forth to unstick them."

• Very nice. I was surprised at the number of illustrations included with the text notes. I like the footnotes that are included wherever there is a difference between the NKJV text and the NU-text or M-text used in other modern translations. The print is large enough to easily read and contrast is very good. The "Leather Touch" cover is not only very attractive but quite pliable. I think it feels better than many genuine leather covers and absolutely is better than bonded leather. I have noticed no wrinkled pages or ink smears at all.
  
  The only con that I found was that the many of the Gilded pages were stuck together. I was carefully going through page by page and rubbing the edges of the stuck pages between thumb and forefinger. It was getting the job done but very work and time intensive. My wife walks by and asks me if I had fanned the top and bottom edges. Well she is a lot smarter than me. After fanning both top and bottom several times I found that many more pages were now unstuck. Also those that were stuck were now much easier to get apart with thumb and forefinger. Once freed the pages don't stick again. 2,269 pages later and I was a happy camper!
  
  I would highly recommend this combination of Bible translation and study materials/helps. The need to go through and free some pages was actually a good thing in that it gave me a good idea of what content was available inside. I would purchase this again.
• This bible is like the Rolls Royce of bibles! I and my brother who is a Pastor were very impressed at the beauty, quality and info/study tools in this bible. We are very blessed to have free access to the word of God in this country and hopefully it will always remain that way. Then to be able to obtain a bible that aids you so much in understanding is a blessing upon blessings.
• This Holman bible is a really beautiful, large bible. It was shipped quickly and was packaged well. However, I returned it for personal reasons. I originally wanted to get the Thomas Nelson NKJV Study Bible but changed my mind because it didn't have the red print for the words of Christ and this one does.
  
  I have the digital version from Nelson on my so I was able to compare the study notes with this Holman Bible. I found the study notes in this Bible, while over 15,000, to be scant and not as comprehensive. Mostly one sentence comments and the Nelson version even has notes on verses that are left blank in the Holman study notes. There was much more detail on the culture, names, jobs etc.
  
  As others have mentioned, the pages stick almost throughout the entire bible and you have to carefully separate them to avoid wrinkling the pages. My husband thought I was in the other room tearing paper because of the noise while separating the pages. With two pages, I wasn't ever able to get loose but it was a blank page next to the title page of the New Testament and didn't really matter as there was no scripture on either. I didn't find it difficult to read although the pages are thin. There are many maps and charts. The dual ribbons were also a nice feature. I really wanted to like and keep this bible but I couldn't get past the study notes issue. I found myself using this bible and my digital version of Nelson's study notes which defeated the purpose of having an all in one study bible for my desk or table. I've now purchased the Thomas Nelson NKJV study bible and while both are large print, it has almost 1,000 more pages than Holman because of the additional content and the font is a little larger. I just have to get use to not having red print for Christ' words.

• Shipping Took too long. The bible is nice quality , print is not as big as I expected, pages are stuck together so you have to be careful turning pages, paper is also thin and can see print on the back of the pages, I looked at a lot of bibles in the book stores, which prices there were retail marked,took me 4 days of searching for exactly what I want, narrowed it down to this one, I WISH I could get what I want, but I got this $90 bible for $58. Now price has gone down to $52. I don't think I wanna recommend it mainly because of the thin pages and smaller print.
• This Bible is awesome! I wasn't sure about the size of the print as it isn't real large but given time I've come to love this Bible. The references & study notes are very helpful.
• I've searched for a direct word-for-word translation of the scriptures in a study Bible format for quite a while, one that also has Jesus' words in RED. That is important to me. This Bible has it all. I have many interpretations of the Holy Bible but this has quickly become my favorite.
